TRAVEL VIETNAM
Travel - Explore - Adventure
Phnom Penh - Angkor Wat &
Siem Riep - Nha Trang - Mekong Delta
PHNOM PENH - CAMBODIA
Phnom Penh is Cambodia's Capital City and home of Languagecorps
Cambodia. On the first weekend, you will be joined by the
trainees from the Thailand and Vietnam programs. On Saturday
night, LanguageCorps hosts a "Welcome Dinner" and
on Sunday we do a tour of Phnom Penh and visit the Royal Palace
and Silver Pagoda.
ANGKOR WAT & SIEM RIEP
- CAMBODIA
After the first week of class, we take three days off to go
explore the wonders of Angkor Wat. In order to better understand
Cambodia, it helps to understand some of its history.
One could easily spend a week exploring the many temples and
ruins that were once the glory of Angkor. You'll find yourself
in the same site as Angelina Jolie in "Tomb Raider",
wandering through ruins of temples in a jungle setting. There
are also waterfalls to play in and an interesting night market.
The nearbytown of Siem Reap provides lots of good accommodation
and many great places to eat.
NHA TRANG - VIETNAM
Nha Trang Beach is one of the more popular beach getaways
in Vietnam. In addition to great seafood a very clean seaside,
there are a number of nearby islands that are easily reached
for a day trip of snorkeling, swimming or scuba diving. You
will be staying in a nice hotel less than two blocks from
the main beach. In addition to beach time, we will be arranging
a boat trip for all day on Sunday, that will be a real treat.
Nice coral and beautifully colored tropical fish make this
a great destination. Not into all that exercise, no problem.
Good food, an occasional beverage and a good book make for
great relaxation. All those tropical beach fantasies you have
always dreamed about are a part of every day here.
MEKONG DELTA - VIETNAM
The areas to the south and east of Ho Chi Minh City are covered
by rivers, canals and other waterways. This region is of major
importance to the country, and to get a real feel for it,
the only way is to travel in the traditional manner, by boat.
