THE TEFL / TESOL PROGRAM
The HEART of the program is a specially designed 144 hour
TEFL / TESOL course that combines what we feel are the essentials
of what you need to become an effective Teacher and to successful
in your new country. The program has an academic class work
component, a foreign language component, and a teaching
practice component.
When you arrive at the airport you will be brought to your
accommodation in Pattaya. On Saturday you thake the bus
to Phmon Penh, Cambodia, (check the program details above,
to see if the transfer costs to Cambodia are included or
not in your program), where you will join students from
the LanguageCorps Cambodia and Thailand for the first 2
weeks of the course of your academic training. We have developed
this model at the request of Asia corps members to meet;
and develop relationships with their counter parts in other
countries. Additionally while in Cambodia those taking a
full 144 hours TEFL / TESOL Training course will be give
a free 3 days excursion to Siem Reap - Angkor Wat.
Let's walk through the program and see what you will be
doing on a day to day basis.
During the first two weeks of class week, your time will
be dedicated to academics. At the end of the second week
you will return to Vietnam to complete your local language
training and teaching practice. We want to you have a solid
base so that at the beginning of the third week, you are
ready to begin student teaching. The day starts at 9 AM
and the day is broken up into four two hour teaching segments
with breaks and lunch as appropriate. Topics covered during

around lesson planning, lesson development, materials development
and the conducting of actual classes. You will be expected
to teach as many as twenty hours of time with "real"
students. You will have additional time to go over your plans,
