We give you a comprehensive and in-depth pre-departure booklet offers detailed information on issues facing volunteers, such as health, safety, and culture shock - facilitating an ease into their new surroundings.

Arrival Information
All participants should arrive at the Accra International Airport in Ghana.

Transfer from Airport to Host family or Hostel
LanguageCorps offers airport pick-up and transfer services to either participants' respective accommodations or host family. LanguageCorps does not offer airport drop-off services. TEFL / TESOL participants are required to provide flight information prior to their arrival in Accra.

How can I contact the school if I arrive before the start of the TEFL / TESOL program?
In the event that participants arrive earlier than their designated start date, they are advised to remain in nearby hotel and call LanguageCorps offices in Ghana. All information pertaining to LanguageCorps offices in Accra (address, phone numbers, etc.) will provided in participants' pre-departure packages and/or placement details.

Living Accommodations/Meals
The program fee covers housing and meals accommodated in local host families - offering a separate, private room and three local meals a day. Should participants wish to stay in a hotel, these arrangements can be made for an additional fee. The cost of the hotel can range from $5-100 per day in Accra -depending upon the quality of the hotel.

Internet/Telephone/Medical Facilities
Accra is the business center and capital of Ghana, offering internet and telephone access as well as medical facilities within a 2-3 km area.

Comprehensive insurance
This insurance will cover travel health insurance, medical evaluation, travel accident insurance, travel assistance, travel language, and third party liability coverage. Our insurance is one of the best insurance plans available in market for those interested in volunteering.

Volunteer Projects
We offers some of the most unique and amazing projects which focus on matching the interests, skills, and experience of volunteers in accordance with their volunteer work. Our local In-Country Coordinators research some of the most interesting and unique local organizations; handpicking the perfect program for each volunteer. Volunteers receive detailed information for their projects - including details about living arrangements, meals, locations. all BEFORE their arrival in-country.

Support of In-Country Coordinator
From the very beginning to the last day of the project, Our In-Country Coordinator(s) /project staffs assist volunteers by supporting them - addressing various concerns and occasionally checking up on volunteers and monitoring their progress.

Emergency Support
We provides volunteers with a variety of contact information -including a 24/7 emergency line (usually mobile phones of local coordinators and US staff members) so that volunteers AND their family members can contact a member of our staff in the event of an emergency or crisis.

Certificate of Appreciation/Completion
Upon completion of your respective service project, all participants receive a certificate illustrating their contributed time.
